Denise Cable

Denise is a PADI Course Director who has certified over 1300 professional & recreational divers.  She’s been diving for over 25 years, and holds over 60 instructor certifications, 28 of which are for instructor-level training. She is an Emergency First Response Instructor Trainer and is 1 of only 4 Instructor for UCI worldwide.  Denise is a Reserve Sergeant for the San Diego County Sheriff Department, serving as lead officer for the dive unit.  Denise works in partnership with dive teams from local Law Enforcement and Life Guard Agencies, State & Federal Agencies including the US Coast Guard, Homeland Security, Border Patrol and the US Navy.  Denise specializes in agency dive operation reviews and writing OSHA compliant SOGs for Public Safety Dive units nationwide.  She also performs expert witness and consulting services for dive-related legal projects.  Read Full CV

Craig Gottlieb

Craig is a PADI Instructor and has been a certified diver for over 30 years.  He served in the United States Marines, attaining the terminal rank of Major.  Craig is a Reserve Sergeant for the San Diego County Sheriff Department where he serves as as the Administrative Sergeant for the department’s dive unit.  He was awarded Deputy of the Year for Special Units in 2017.  He is a certified Underwater Criminal Investigator with UCI.  Craig is a weapons expert, having both consulted and appeared on numerous TV shows, including History Channel’s Pawn Stars, Discovery Channel’s Battlefield Recovery, and Behind The Barrel for Military.com.  Craig works with law firms across the United States as a consultant and expert witness, and has testified in Federal Court.  Read full CV.

Dan Knauss

Dan is a PADI Course Director, has been diving since 1990, and has been teaching for 20 years.  A graduate of the Navy’s Deep Sea Diver School, Dan served 6 years as a Navy Deep Sea Diver.  He is the Training Section Leader for the San Diego Sheriff Dive Unit.  Between dives, Dan runs a scuba equipment repair facility, draws cartoons, and hangs out with his beautiful wife, Hope.   Dan has a Master’s in Youth Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary, has 17 years of youth ministry experience, and has worked with the Boy Scouts Scuba Program.  Dan says, “One of the greatest things about being a Scuba Instructor is sharing in the excitement people have as they enter the fascinating underwater realm for the first time.  It never gets old or dull seeing that!”  Read full CV.
