Description
This is a rescue-oriented course that continues where the PADI Public Safety Diver course leaves off, focusing on vehicle related rescues as well as away-from-shore rescues. Instructors address mission concerns when conditions require the use of search patterns other than the arc search, and also covers the dangers of entrapment in submerged vehicles. Topics include:
- Away from shore search patterns
- Boat-based operations
- Vehicle entry dynamics
- Vehicle related rescue attempts
- Victim contact (inside and outside of vehicles)
- Nonmetal evidence preservation
- Fingerprint preservation
- Safety equipment including pony bottles and bailout systems
- Diver emergencies and responses
- Introduction to evidence recovery
